Hi Everyone! I hope you’re enjoying this blazin’ summer thus far! If you follow my social media pages, you definitely know I rock suits year around. So the last week of June, Zara.com started their end of season sale, and let’s just say, I bought a shopping cart full which included mostly suits. There were sooooo many to choose from that unfortunately, I HAD to settle with just 3 (green, red, and pink). I’m in the process of shooting the red one, but I simply adore the pink double breasted one which looks a bit zoot suit-ish!
Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing one of my new fall suits! Unfortunately the suit sold out at Old Navy (boooooo) however, stores/brands offer velvet blazers and suits every fall/winter season. So finding anything in velvet shouldn’t prove too difficult. Prior to selling out, Old Navy offered this suit in three colors: blue, black, and burgundy. I immediately fell in love with the burgundy one, of course!
After opening the package and trying on the blazer, I discovered it’s made without shoulder pads. Usually a huge deal breaker for me, I decided to keep the blazer since it fits nicely. I styled it with a button down shirt and vest without experiencing any tightness; yet another plus. I plan to wear this suit to work and out to functions for years to come!
Hi everyone! Sharing my latest score on the blog today! CORDUROY…that’s right! A former 1970s staple and I should know, because every winter my mom provided me and my bro a new pair of trousers or overalls in the fabric. I guess parents during that time felt corduroy was THE BEST FABRIC to keep kiddos warm during the winter. LOL!
The blazer caught my eye first on J Crew.com and after perusing the pants section , I noticed a pair in the same blue. Yay! I now have a blue corduroy suit for the season!
Both pieces arrived and I couldn’t wait to try them on! Once on, I noticed the blazer was a slightly lighter blue shade than the pants. I’m not too heartbroken about this as it still creates an amazing suit and I absolutely love this shade of blue.
Hi everyone! What do you think about wearing lighter colors for fall/winter? I’m totally down with it! I recently purchased a nice PINK suit from Zara.com; especially after seeing several pink and yellow combos grace this fall’s runways and on street style starlets across the globe!

Check out this suit purchased online from Zara.com; one of my favorite “go to” stores for edgy pieces. I absolutely love the fit of the suit and the mid weight fabric makes it wearable in warmer months! Now I’m off to find a bright yellow turtleneck sweater or blouse to help complete the above look! Check out more pink suited looks on my Pinterest page (here) and as always, thanks for stopping by!
Honestly, I’ve never enjoyed fall/winter weather styling. As a native Texan, it’s not unusual to experience all four season within a week; during our “so called” winter season! Experiencing this, I never purchase loads of fall/winter clothing. I choose to stick to a basic color palate and ride the wave to warmer weather. Check out a few looks I’ve put together accomplishing this.
Hi Everyone! Today’s post showcases an awesome J Crew wool suit scored on Ebay this past summer. This suit debuted a few seasons ago, however it’s still a knock out!
First, I love the vibrant pink color, a difficult color to find in a suit. This one definitely turns heads. Secondly, the fit is amazing! I usually wear a size 2 and 4 in J Crew clothing, the only brand that gives me “that tailored” feel and look.
The seller offered the suit brand new, a size 4 blazer and size 6 trousers. I contemplated at first, and then finally said to myself, “what the heck, just go for it”. I’m sure glad I did! Despite being a size 6, the pants still fit nicely, giving just a hint of sag, which I like at times (the tomboy in me…hehe!)
I styled the suit as separates too; check out how below. Click links to view products on retailers websites for purchase.
Hey Everyone! Today I’m showcasing the continuation of my Fall/Winter Look Book started in late September. Both work and family obligations delayed the process a bit, but I’ve worked diligently towards its completion (while anxiously awaiting warmer weather)!
Growing up in the 70s, I witnessed the “fur coat mania”. Even my mom wore them; throughout the 70s and 80s! Since I’ve always wanted one; I went for it! I jumped for joy after seeing them on sale at hm.com a few weeks ago.
First of all, the vibrant burgundy color is “the business”! Also, this coat is super warm and cozy! I love, love, love it! Did I mention how much I love it? LoL
I paired the look with a white dress shirt, a gray skinny tie, a white cab hat, animal print pumps, (old, from lulus.com) and black ankle length trousers, also from hm.com.
I’ve always been a fan of vintage fashion. From time to time, I enjoy dressing up with a menswear from different time periods. What are my favorite fashion time periods? Definitely the 1920s-1970s! Quite a stretch, Right?
For this post, I’ve featured four women who took “menswear looks” to another level. Meet “Vintage Babes”: Audrey Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, Anna May Wong, and Katharine Hepburn. These ladies dared to dress in menswear, which I find admirable for their day.
