Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing one of my new fall suits! Unfortunately the suit sold out at Old Navy (boooooo) however, stores/brands offer velvet blazers and suits every fall/winter season. So finding anything in velvet shouldn’t prove too difficult. Prior to selling out, Old Navy offered this suit in three colors: blue, black, and burgundy. I immediately fell in love with the burgundy one, of course!
Blazer: INC International | Blazer: Kensie | Suit: Nyandcompany | Blazer: Mango
After opening the package and trying on the blazer, I discovered it’s made without shoulder pads. Usually a huge deal breaker for me, I decided to keep the blazer since it fits nicely. I styled it with a button down shirt and vest without experiencing any tightness; yet another plus. I plan to wear this suit to work and out to functions for years to come!

Hi everyone! As a bonafide shopaholic, I find ways to load my closet with new items without breaking the bank! For my latest haul, I decided to coat shop a bit early, although I plan to stock up on a few more styles on Black Friday and during “after Christmas sales/clearance”. FYI, adding more items to my never ending “Wish List”; it’s just the shopaholic in me! Be sure to click the coat description to view items on the store’s website!
I bought this patch work overcoat a few weeks ago and what a fabulous fit! Since the 80’s/90’s I have had this love affair with military/band style coats and jackets.
I consider this coat a long overdue purchase! For ages I’ve wanted an animal print coat but never found one for the right price; until now! Of course, with Dallas’ unpredictable weather, fleece definitely comes in handy on colder days and why not look stylish while keeping warm?
My final coat purchase , the wool blend overcoat, looks and feels very expensive. I plan to put several miles on this coat this season.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Hi everyone! Sharing my latest score on the blog today! CORDUROY…that’s right! A former 1970s staple and I should know, because every winter my mom provided me and my bro a new pair of trousers or overalls in the fabric. I guess parents during that time felt corduroy was THE BEST FABRIC to keep kiddos warm during the winter. LOL!
The blazer caught my eye first on J Crew.com and after perusing the pants section , I noticed a pair in the same blue. Yay! I now have a blue corduroy suit for the season!
Both pieces arrived and I couldn’t wait to try them on! Once on, I noticed the blazer was a slightly lighter blue shade than the pants. I’m not too heartbroken about this as it still creates an amazing suit and I absolutely love this shade of blue.

Hi everyone! What do you think about wearing lighter colors for fall/winter? I’m totally down with it! I recently purchased a nice PINK suit from Zara.com; especially after seeing several pink and yellow combos grace this fall’s runways and on street style starlets across the globe!

Check out this suit purchased online from Zara.com; one of my favorite “go to” stores for edgy pieces. I absolutely love the fit of the suit and the mid weight fabric makes it wearable in warmer months! Now I’m off to find a bright yellow turtleneck sweater or blouse to help complete the above look! Check out more pink suited looks on my Pinterest page (here) and as always, thanks for stopping by!
Happy Fall, everyone! I knowwwwww…it’s been an entire month since writing a blog post and I plan to improve in this area! So to get back into the swing of things, I’d like to share a few of my fall “must-have” boots (all under $100 bucks) that I’ve either purchased or plan to do so! For starters, thigh high boots are allllll the rage and I definitely caught the wave on this one. I’m definitely old enough to remember when only a certain “type of working woman” wore this style of boot! LOL! After a bit of refinement, a variety of available styles and colors make choosing easier than before.
As far as styling these boots, I thought I’d go a bit “edgy” adding a rocker graphic tee, slim jeans, and this fun bolero style hat! Check out the links below!

What do you get when you pair a LBD (A Little Black Dress) and a button down shirt? You’ve created something I’d definitely wear! LOL! Seriously, I love pairing dresses with the classic button down shirts. I’ve worn this combo for a while now and thought I’d share it! Try it out! Just take a strapless dress or one with a crew or square neck collar then add your favorite button down shirt! Be sure to tag me on Instagram if you decide to go for it or leave me a comment below to visit your blog! I’d love to see!

Hi everyone! Trying something new today on the blog! That’s right, Pajama style trousers. While I’m no stranger to edgy clothing; I admit, rockin’ this pant style caused quite a bit of buzz (in the form of stares, of course) ! Nonetheless, they feel super comfy and look really cool styled both casually and dressy!
Again, I did receive a few stares while wearing them out and about! LOL! However the funniest thing happened before leaving the house wearing them; my hubby asked why was I wearing pajama pants to run errands. My comeback, of course, was “these pants are totally in style”. His smirk said quite the contrary! Anywho!!! I plan to keep on rockin’ them and may add another post showing a few more pair!
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll se Y.O.U. in the next blog!
Today I’m sharing a simple style tip to show you how to create multiple style looks! I start with a monochrome base look (for me, black is a must!) then choose jackets, hats, and shoes accordingly!
Start with a monochrome base look!
Look 1– I added a boater hat, large frame sunnies, white oxfords, and a trimmed blazer (the white in the blazer works with the oxfords).
Look #2– This look focuses on texture! With the same boater hat, I added a faux leather jacket and shoes. The silver chromed “sunnies” tie in well and even picks up that bit of silver in the buckle.
Look #3 For this look I matched this fun furry Kangol cab hat with a pair of J Crew red Etta pumps!
Look #4- I added a sailor style blazer, patent leather oxfords, and the same large frame sunnies.
Look #5 – I decided to add a bit of color with this blue hat! I love wearing white year around, so an off white blazer completes the look. Then of course, for shoes, my favorite pair of classic spat booties.
Look #6- For the final look, I added a Panama hat and a double breasted blazer. For shoes and accessories: the same spat boots, silver chrome shades, and one of my favorite lapel pins to complete the look!
As always, thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you in the next post!

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share my latest wardrobe addition: A pair of bright red wide leg linen pants. Although my wardrobe contains several items of color, I’m trying to add a bit more and create more looks using it instead of my usual ” go to black and white” ones ( don’t judge) LOL!
For starters, these “medium weight”linen pants look and feel amazing!!! I recently scored them and a few more items during J Crew’s end of summer sale. Self control was a definite must; I wanted to load my online cart with everything!!! I definitely foresee adding miles to these with the plus of dressing them up with a pair of pumps and a blazer or down with a white tee and a pair of loafers or sneakers.
Now I know the wrinkled appearance of linen fabric causes some to avoid it like the plague. Please don’t let that deter you, try wearing it the remainder of this season or even next season.
So here’s a tip before wearing linen pants: Lightly starch, set the iron on the “linen” setting, then iron. You’ll be amazed at the outcome and the added bonus of minimal wrinkling throughout the day.
To complete the look, I added my long time warm weather staple; a MADRAS blazer. Unfortunately the pants sold out in most sizes, but similar) here , here and here with a pair of gold slippers (Zara) similar here, and here .
Please know I usually style myself using items already owned and I mostly shop “on sale”. If you’re interested in achieving the entire look in any post or just like an item or two; I’ll try my best to link exact or similar items.
